Advocacy communications to support philanthropy’s work changing lives and systems
For United Way of Greater Los Angeles, our team created and implemented a strategic communication plan, informed by research and stakeholder interviews, to align messaging and raise awareness of the organization’s impact. As United Way’s communications partner, we develop narratives and messages to educate and inform audiences about key programs, secure media coverage, write original content, and create systems to align editorial planning across the organization.
Building public understanding of innovative programs and rapid-response efforts
Through media relations and message development, we help generate local and national news coverage that highlights how United Way’s work improves the lives of economically vulnerable Angelenos.
As United Way quickly implemented the Pandemic Relief Fund in response to the pandemic we helped them continue to tell the story of their strategic coordinating and grantmaking efforts in addition to the important work of grantees.
We facilitated including United Way’s voice in public conversations about the 2020 homeless count and Measure J.
We generated media coverage around key programs like energy assistance for struggling families and efforts to reimagine the education system through the new TransformED grants.
